Jack ButlerJack Butler
I've worked across startups in prop tech, financial services, and telephony, founded my own businesses in property and built multiple mobile apps.
I focus on turning ideas into live products, while building the revenue model behind them.

Projects I've shipped on the side of contracting. Each one started as a problem I've had myself, or a friend has experienced.
Trips Together
I was sick of wanting to go on trips, but they were never getting out of the group chat. This led me to solo travel, and while travelling I began building Trips Together to solve it. A collaborative travel planner that lets your group find dates you're all free and make decisions together, with the ability to find flights, accommodation and activities within the app, as well as splitting your expenses.

What I've done
- —Built a Flutter front end, with a Node.js backend and MongoDB database, and released on iOS and Android app stores.
- —Created a trip planning journey to collect trip requirements, then send them to a team of agents, orchestrated using CrewAI, to return useful trip ideas and plans for users.
- —Built an in-app AI chat assistant, that understands your group and your trip, with access to tools like Kiwi flights API and Google Maps/Places. It can pull live flights, as well as places to eat and activities to enjoy and display them on an interactive map, within the chat.
- —Secured the affiliate partnerships and API integrations, covering flights, accommodation, activities, eSIMs and weather (Kiwi, Viator, Trip.com, Tripadvisor, Hostelworld, Airalo and more…). This provides a one-stop shop for travel planning/booking.
- —Integrated PostHog to track user behaviour and iterate to drive feature use and improve conversions.
- —Built in paid features, with subscription and one-off purchase models, providing flexibility to users, whilst driving revenue.
- —Built in-app feedback capture while the AI generates a plan and users are waiting, keeping them engaged. This came after email surveys got little traction and friends were too kind to be useful.
- —Ran in-person demos and Q&As to watch real usage and catch problems no survey would have.
- —Began editing and creating content to show me building in public. Enjoy and have a laugh here: https://www.instagram.com/jack.builds.apps/
Where I've Worked

Product and marketing contractor · B2B, Marketing
- —Helped scope product direction for a contact centre, telephony startup, working in the sales and product loop, to steer the product roadmap with customer feedback, as well as analysing cost and developing the product's pricing structure for the US and the UK.
- —Built full marketing funnels for agency clients, from lead capture to conversion
- —Ran multiple client projects simultaneously, responsible for hitting deadlines and quality standards
- —Started the product from scratch to live on iOS and Android. Led design and built most of the core experience myself, working closely with one other business partner.
- —Found and agreed API partnerships for flights, activities, and destinations and then implemented them.
- —Set up feedback collection systems after launch to find problems and iterate quickly
- —550+ downloads, 350+ trips planned
- —Founded a property business specialising in student rentals on behalf of landlords
- —Transitioned to managing AirBnB properties, securing management of two properties in Henley On Thames
- —Built automation for property marketing, booking management, and guest communication
- —Built an online guidebook platform for guests to stop the endless stream of messages.
Sales, Product and Partnerships Lead
A tenant referencing service with an integrated marketplace · Property, Renting
- —Joined early-stage team of 5 as first commercial hire; started coding on day 2 to close the gap between product and sales
- —Built the product roadmap from sales and client conversations. Ran discovery calls, turned what I heard into requirements, and worked directly with engineers to get it built.
- —Grew the client base from 5 to 150+
- —Helped open a new revenue stream beyond core referencing: launched the integrated marketplace and partner integrations and sold them in alongside the existing product.
- —Led the full product: Working with a design team, legal and compliance sign-off, customer onboarding
- —Worked with legal from the start so compliance shaped the product instead of blocking it
- —Ran sales myself: found agents, pitched the products and onboarded them.
- —Owned the full commercial motion end to end: set pricing, pitched, and onboarded paying customers.
Education
University wasn't for me, so I went out and very quickly tried my hand at building a business and joining start ups. But here's my most recent education:

Travel
28 countries so far, multiple solo trips, always with the loosest possible plan… Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania ticked off so far.
Classic Cars
I've got a big passion for classic cars, having restored a classic VW campervan with my dad and worked on multiple other cars. I enjoy going to classic car events and the feeling of driving an old car!
Sport
I'm interested in most sports, mainly rugby, F1 and cricket. I captained rugby sides when I was younger, and continue to play socially. I have now played in five different countries across the globe.
Socials
You're going to look anyway, so I may as well save you some time.
